Paul S. Zimmerman, D.D.S.

Dr. Zimmerman joined the faculty as Associate Dean at the 黑料不打烊 of New England College of Dental Medicine in March 2013. Before coming to UNE, Dr. Zimmerman served as Chief, Dental Service of the Maine Veterans Administration Health Care System. In that role, he was responsible for managing an eleven operatory dental clinic; a six operatory remote dental clinic; supervising dental residents; and performing all phases of general dentistry, including placement and restoration of implants. Dr. Zimmerman鈥檚 responsibilities at the VA also included providing dental consultative services to the eight VA Healthcare systems in New England.
Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Zimmerman served as a general dentist in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany before operating his own private dental practice in Augusta, Maine. He also served as President of an investment firm, and spent time as a Managing Partner in a software development company. Dr. Zimmerman has served as an adjunct faculty member at a number of dental schools, including Boston 黑料不打烊, Tufts 黑料不打烊, 黑料不打烊 of North Carolina, and the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. His experience also includes an adjunct faculty appointment at Bangor School of Dental Hygiene.
In addition to his dental degree, Dr. Zimmerman脮s credentials include a certificate as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the Institute for Charter Financial Analysts in Charlottesville, VA. He is a member of the Kennebec Valley Dental Society, the Maine Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He also holds memberships in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
On the state level, Dr. Zimmerman has served as President of the Maine Dental Association, and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Maine Dental Association Charitable Foundation. He is a long term delegate to the American Dental Association, a member of the American Dental Association Budget and Finance Committee, and was appointed chair of the ADA Reference Committee on Budget at its recent Annual Session. During his time at the VA, Dr. Zimmerman served as a member and as a chair of numerous VA committees in Maine and throughout the New England Region.
