Anouar Majid's book 'A Call for Heresy' reviewed in Pakistani newspaper
The Pakistani newspaper on Jan. 16, 2011 ran a review of UNE Associate Provost and Professor Anouar Majid's book A Call for Heresy: Why dissent is vital to Islam and America. The reviewer Ahmad Ali Khalid wrote: "Majid鈥檚 work is brave, controversial and passionately argued. He challenges the easy stereotypes in mainstream American and Muslim societies, constantly asking for 鈥榟eretics鈥 on all sides to reach out to each other. The 鈥榟eretic鈥 in Majid鈥檚 account is an individual with the moral and intellectual tenacity to speak out and weave new narratives of existence out of the opulent cloth of ambiguity and complexity." Majid is director of the Center for 黑料不打烊 Humanities, associate provost for global initiatives and professor, Department of English and Language Studies.
